When fishing in Chaumont Bay during the fall, anglers should use lures that mimic the baitfish that are prevalent in the area at that time of year. Some of the best lures to use include:

• Smallmouth crankbaits
• Spinnerbaits
• Jerkbaits
• Spoons
• Blade baits

These lures can be fished at a variety of depths and speeds, depending on the conditions. In general, it is best to start by fishing the lures slowly and close to the bottom. If this does not produce any results, then you can try fishing the lures faster and higher in the water column.
